Default Rebuild moving ahead

Got most of the parts for the 402 today. Motor is being bored and the head rebuid is started. Hope to get some pictures early next week to post. Should have it by the first of April. Decided to move ahead. Any paint suggestions on what to use?

I use rattle can paint, the key is in the surface prep.

Looking forward to seeing some pics Ray. Are you asking about what color to paint the block or what product ?

Talking

Here is a example of Duplicolor rattle can over a duplicolor primer. On my old/new motor. Did not do much prep on the valve covers as they will be replaced.

I researched it and most people are using a standard base coat clear on a WELL prepped block.
I soaked clean rags and wiped everything down several times. Then used white paint thinner soaked Bounty and wiped everything again. Then let it air dry before blowing off the lint from the Bounty off with a blow gun. I was just using a rattle can and the paint adhered very well with no oil reaction. It looks like it should hold up well for a rattle can job. But would be better with a bc/c color.

The research I have been doing also looks like to primer the block and use VHT, or Duplicolor paints so it will hold up.
