Intro
Howdy from San Antonio,
My love of Chevelles started with my second car back in 1978, which was a 1970 Chevelle Malibu (Alvocado green with a vinyl top). Unfortunately, a guy who was stoned ran into it with a 1972 Cutlass and ruined 2 classics instantaneously which should be a felony!
I have owned a couple of Malibus since then but I decided to get a Chevelle for a daily driver and keep it for the rest of my life (at least that's the plan). I found a great car west of Austin, Texas a couple of years ago which had already been partially restored and I am slowly taking it the rest of the way home. I don't want to make it a show car since it is a daily driver and I am keeping the 350 and not putting in a performance engine since I have to put gas in it to get around. I am currently working on putting a stereo in it and some soundproofing. I got a 350 4bolt main with double hump heads to rebuild so I have something ready when I need it. I have not rebuilt an engine before but do most any mechanic work. I found a local auto body shop that is willing to let me work there part time in exchange for touching up the paint on my Chevelle. The paint job is good but has some scratches and I am looking forward to learning some body work and learning some tricks from you all.
