Today I got some culture shock when looking to buy tickets to a concert for me and my daughter.
So I was wondering what was the last concert that everyone went to ? Even better do you remember what you paid for the tickets ? The reason that I am asking is because today it was announced that tickets were on sale for "Lady Gaga". OK, OK, before you guys make fun of me, these were for my 15yr old Lauren. I was going to get a couple tickets and take her because she really loves Lady Gaga. That was until I saw the ticket prices. Nose Bleed section $180.00 each (and that was the cheapest that I found), if we wanted to sit on the main floor....I would be looking at $3,000.00 +++. Am I the only one or is this ridiculous ???!!!

The last concert we went to was last year for Bob Seger and the tickets were $85 each and the worst seats weve ever had .We will not be going to any other concerts that are over priced for what you get .The only concert we will go to is to see our friends Silver Travis whenever they are within driving distance as they put on a great show and we also get VIP treatment with them.

I am just still in shock over the prices. People have told me to wait until close to the concert date, which is in Feb. 2013. Then check things like craigs list and ebay for tickets that people bought, but they are unable to go.

It been a long time since I went to any concert. My wife loves to go to the theater shows that come to our town and the ticket run about the same for the noise bleed section and about $500 each and up for an up front seat. Way to much if you ask me.

Got to see Roger Waters The Wall (pink floyd) in May in Houston. Tickets with all tax etc. included were $99 each. I thought that was expensive but it was well worth it. If I pay more then $100 a ticket it will be somebody I really want to see bad.

We go and see our friends band all the time, but cover charges are usually in the $10-$15 range. They put on a great show and we have a great time.
As far as big name bands, I saw Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on the Power Tour in 1998. The concert was free with admission to the event. The last band I saw in a stadium was Miranda Lambert and Montgomery Gentry in Basic training. The concert was free to troops. I also saw Five Finger Death Punch for free when I was in Baghdad. I don't like people, so it has to be a screamin' deal for me to go see a concert live. $3K for concert tickets? ...Ain't no way! I'd buy a 60" flat screen and watch a DVD of the concert before I paid that!

I suppose if you think about what the average person makes per hour, how many hours do they have to work just to cover the cost of one ticket. Be a guy who wants to take a girl to a concert and it is crazy.
The last concert I went to was Billy Joel at the Palace in Auburn Hills, MI. We had gone to a school function and bought tickets into a drawing and we won the tickets. We probably spent 40 or 50 bucks on the drawing. Before that...it was probably REO Speedwagon and I probably spent $35, and that was many, many years ago.
