transmission questions

hi all. Just got a 65 chevelle project car and have a few questions on what transmission to use. I have 2 different engine possibilities. I have a fresh 454 bbc i could put in or i have a 327 vette motor. Not sure which way i am going but would any year 4 speed bolt up to either motor, for example something out of a 80's or 90's camaro. Do I need something heavier duty for the 454. Just looking for suggestions or ideas from other members who have done similar projects. thanks
