Default Found a spot to store my car

I spent Monday and Tuesday sending e-mails and making phone calls. I found many places that still had spots, but those that were climate controlled wanted an arm and a leg.

Well, this morning I got a call from a place not to far from me. I was told that they were full, but since I had a Chevelle, he would make room. I just had to come up and fill out paperwork and leave a deposit. So David and I went there and were pleasantly surprised at what we found.

The building is an old grocery store warehouse. We got a tour of the whole facility. This place is huge. In one end they have a space that houses Huge boats, there were at least 20 of them in there. We moved on to the next room and there were more boats, these were probably 20 ft and smaller along with many trailers with Jet Skis. The next room was called the Corvette Room, there were probably 15 of them with room for at least that many more. Then came another room that had about 20 cars in it. There were 2 more rooms, one of them will be where my car will be stored.

The building was clean, didn't smell, and had fans circulating the air. I was very pleased with what we saw. So we signed the papers. I am very relieved that I found a climate controlled environment to keep my car for the winter.

Congrats, I have always wanted to lease a warehouse and have a place for classic cars as a side business.

It was really cool. I just wanted to walk over to all the cars and look under the car covers to see all the jewels hidden underneath.

Sounds like you found a nice place to keep the Chevelle warm and cozy over the winter.

I was really lucky. I called at the right time. I guess the return rate for this place is 95% for cars, and the Boats have at least a 2 yr waiting list. When I called I talked to the manager, who happens to love Chevelles. So we talked for a few minutes and he said he needed to help me and that he would make room for mine.

Now this place is not for everyone though. Part of the agreement is that you have to give 24-48 hrs notice to pick up your car. Reason being, that other vehicles may have to be rolled out of the way to get to yours. And they ask that for the months of Dec-Jan-Feb, your car is pretty much on lock down, and you ain't getting your car outta there unless it is an emergency. For me, not a problem. But come March we will see what the weather is like. And who knows, I may just have to go visit my baby.
