Unhappy Another mass shooting

this one in a Connecticut elementary school. Death toll keeps varying between 26 and 28. 20 of those were students. What can possibly be going through someone's head to make them think killing 20 innocent children will solve your problems or make you feel better?

Definitely something wrong in this country when this type of thing keeps happening and it seems to becoming more frequent.

As I have continued to watch the news today I am sickened by what has happened. A young man, 20yrs old, takes the life of his mother who was a Kinder garden teacher at this school. Then steals her guns, which were legally registered to her, and goes to the school and takes the lives of 20 innocent children and 6 adults, which included the principle of the school.

Ironically, the principle had just installed some type of security system recently. People are asking how this kid got into the school. He was the son of one of the teachers, I am sure that he has been there before to see his mom.

My heart is heavy as I think of those families and what they must be going through right now. What a sad day......for everyone.

They said on the news this morning that she was not a teacher there or anywhere in the school district. Possibly a sub at some time but not a full time employee.

20 children from 5 to 8 years old, breaks your heart.

Our prayers go out to all who are effected by this. We just had a shooting 2 days ago in one of our shopping malls.

This is a sad day in America but I would not be surprised if something like this could happen at my work.

"In times like these, it is helpful to remember that there have always been times like these." -Paul Harvey

Quote:
"The Bath School disaster is the name given to three bombings in Bath Township, Michigan, on May 18, 1927, which killed 38 elementary school children, two teachers, four other adults and the bomber himself; at least 58 people were injured. Most of the victims were children in the second to sixth grades (7–11 years of age) attending the Bath Consolidated School. Their deaths constitute the deadliest mass murder in a school in U.S. history and the third-deadliest non-military massacre in U.S. history, behind 9/11 and the Oklahoma City bombing.

The bomber was school board treasurer Andrew Kehoe, 55 who died in a car bomb he set off after he drove up to the school as the crowd gathered to rescue survivors from the burning school.

On the morning of May 18, Kehoe murdered his wife by beating her to death, then set his farm buildings afire. As fire fighters arrived at the farm, an explosion devastated the north wing of the school building, killing many schoolchildren. He used a detonator to ignite dynamite and hundreds of pounds of pyrotol which he had secretly planted inside the school over the course of many months. As rescuers started gathering at the school, Kehoe drove up, stopped, and detonated a bomb inside his fragmentation-filled vehicle with his Winchester rifle, killing himself and the school superintendent, and killing and injuring several others. During rescue efforts searchers discovered an additional 500 pounds (230 kg) of unexploded dynamite and pyrotol planted throughout the basement of the school's south wing. Kehoe apparently had intended to blow up and destroy the whole school."

I came across this blog today and thought that it was interesting getting the view of a mother who is raising a mentally ill child. It brings up a lot of questions about how society treats the mentally ill.
