This weekend I got a call from one of my daughter's, she was sobbing. Her best friend lost her life in an accident. So we have been trying to get my daughter Lacie home to attend the funeral, as well as trying to help Lacie deal with her loss. This young lady was an extended member of my family and leaves behind a daughter who is less than a year old. Lacie is the Godmother to the little girl and doesn't know what is going to happen to this little girl.

Lacie will be arriving today and I will probably be spending alot of time with her. So just be patient with me, I haven't disappeared, I just have to take care of my family for the next few days.

Thank you for all your kind words. Today I have my grand daughter who is 6 and understands that Kristie is gone and that she will never see her again. But it is hard for her to understand why her mom is so sad and crying a lot. We are doing our best to answer her questions so that she will understand. The funeral is on Friday morning and I am sure she will have so many more questions.

It is so hard to comprehend the loss of a 25 yr old woman. There are a lot of contributing factors but from what we know. Kristie was riding a 4 wheeler, not one of the little ones, but a pretty big one. She was going too fast and tried to turn, at that point she was thrown from the 4 wheeler and was killed instantly. We don't know much more than that, we don't want to intrude on the family, they will tell more when they are ready.

My heart just goes out to this little baby girl, she is not even a yr old and she has lost her mom. I do give the parents of Kristie a lot of credit for thinking of the little one. They have set up a fund for the baby's future and asked that instead of flowers that friends and family make a donation to the fund, which will be available to the child when she is 18 or 21.

This is a wonderful family, who only 2 days before Kristie's death, lost their grandfather. So much tragedy in such a short period of time. Sad....

Way to short of a life taken away. I know I required all my children and friends to wear helmets when they rode and they had to prove to me first they knew how to ride before I would allow them to ride. All my children took a safety course to learn how to ride. Still my son was riding a couple of years ago a guy came came over a hill in a dune buggy and hit him. He had to be airlifted to the hospital, so you never know. Our prayers will be with the family.

Such a tremendous loss to all and such a pretty young lady ,so sorry to hear of this .We are concerned for the safety of some of our family that ride 4 wheelers as they refuse to wear helments and even allow their 3 year old daughter to ride with them without a helment .Like anything we do though there is an element of danger involved ,it was just her time .My prayers go out to you all at this time to help you through this .
