Default Proud of my nephew!

My nephew graduated Army basic training today. We're getting ready to go over to the welcome home party for him since his 10 day TDY officially began today. Not only did he want to, (and did) go for my M.O.S., but there's a strong possibility he'll end up in my old unit down in Ft. Polk.

I was a 12B (Combat Engineer/Sapper) and now he is too. I'm VERY proud of him.

Congrats to your nephew and much thanks for his and your service.
Polk is not too far from my daughter and her clan's home in Alexandria, LA. I get to visit often but it's gonna be a hot summer for him...

Alan, that is wonderful. How exciting that he might follow in his uncles footsteps, literally. Pass on to him how proud we all are of him, and thank you for his and your service.

Thank you everyone. I found out at the party his orders ARE for my old unit.

At least he can ask me how to get around post and town. I think I may be more excited than he is. I think he's gonna have a blast down there.
