Default Did not know this.

Listening to the radio on my way to work the talking heads were discussing road signs. If an exit number is on the left side the exit is on the left, right side exits right.

Good to know. Did you guys know this ?

Nope and will check it out on Monday as there is a left exit onto I96 from US23 here in Michigan.

I think that's basically true for the last sign. Sometimes there's a sign at say 2 miles then one close to the exit. The first one may not be on the left for left hand exit. I know that's true because I've had to move across multiple lanes to make an exit. Especially in large cities where there's lot's of entrances and exits.

Maybe i should have explained it a little better. If the exit number on top of the sign is on the right side of the sign then it exits right. If the exit number on top of the sign is on the left side then it exits left.

The sign my be on the right side of the road but the position of the number on top is what denotes the type of exit.

I hope that makes sense.
