Seen a news story that TRW is laying off 600 people in the area. Are you one of them? Man, I sure hope not.

Nope, that is our Saginaw plant that we took over from Delphi in 2008 on a 5 year contract to help GM out when Delphi went into bankruptcy. It is TRW management has been running it with Delphi/GM labor. I know TRW / GM have been trying to work it out since summer but I guess they could not. In fact I was told about 2:00 today that we will taking over all the past model service parts out of there and the list was about 200 part numbers and we have to find somewhere to make them so I will be buried more than I am now.

My friend Mike Hazel (Henry J) works there in I.T. And sent me a email last week to keep him in mind if I hear of something. He has been with TRW for over 20 years.

Thanks, I'm pretty safe as I'm Quality Manager for all North America parts and service....I would have to be fired and not laid off unless TRW quits supplying North America.

I have a couple of friends that are in Saginaw that I hope they get back into one of other locations in Michigan as they went up there to help with the transition from Delphi to TRW.

My wife was up there for 8 months in 2008 helping them with the switching all the computer programs to TRW systems and will have to go back to de-commission the systems in February which she is not looking forward to.
