Default oil pressure gauge issue

ok so i am trying to clean up my garage and while i am doing that i am putting some parts on the chevelle that i have laying around. So i am trying to install my oil pressure gauge. I put that elbow in and its hitting my z bar. I wasted my money by buying an auto meter kit and same thing it hits the z bar. i am lost and dont know what to do. I am to the point where i am going to plug it back up the way it was and just roll with no oil pressure gauge, Its NEVER going to see the strip and if my oil pressure goes the motor is toast already right? what should i do? thoughts/help please!!

Look for a different place to put the fitting.

I found this on another forum Shaun.....hope it helps. The guy had the same exact problem as you and this is the info he got.

There's 5 plug's that are in line with the main bearing cap's on the driver's side of the block that can be used.
There's also 1 on the front of the block on the driver's side that's the same galley as the rest.
You can use any of those to install the sender.
And ,Yes ,plug the one's you aren't using.

Can you use a factory fitting? I went that route on my 72', no clearance issues.

i can't get the bushing that is in place now. if i was able to get the bushing out with out removing the motor i would be all over that. but that has layers of paint on it and only an impact gun would be able to get that off
