Same here. Yesterday in the paper ads, one of the local big box stores had some decent American made tools on sale for a decent price. They opened at 6 AM. I thought I may shoot out there and pick some up. On the 5 AM news, they had a live story on the place. I was shocked!!! There were over a thousand people waiting in line!!!!

I dont do Black Friday shopping ,I went to Harbor Freight last saturday for a rolling tool cart that was on sale and it was pretty busy there .All our Christmas shopping was done long a go ,the day after last Christmas ,much better prices .

I did go look at a large tool box at harbor frieght for the garage. For the price not a bad deal.

I avoid it too but my monitor went out Thursday night so i made the run to Micro Center on Friday. They had monitors everywhere on the floor so i just picked one up and headed to the checkout. Wasn't bad at all even though the place was busy.

Did a Black Friday ONCE years ago with the wife. She and I had so much fun haven't done it since. I think a lot of the problems with Black Friday sales falls on the retailers and their "marketing strategies" as it were. Opening so early and only having limited quantities of items such as 1 or 2 items per store creates the chaos you see and read about. Not for me at all !!
