Default Time to play the game again

Uverse bill was about to go up $43 a month. Last year at this time it jumped way up. I called, they gave me a 1 year discount on the tv service and an extra receiver free. The discount and free receiver about to go away so I called again. They upgraded my tv service to include HBO, etc., we already had Showtime. They doubled my internet speed as well. I don't need the 3rd receiver any longer so if I return that my bill goes down $2 a month. So next year I'll have to play the game again but I guess it's worth it. If I didn't my Uverse bill would probably be $200 a month.

Also got a bill from Trugreen lawn service. Same thing, bill went way up from last year. So I have to call them like I do every year and tell them don't bother coming out because I'm not paying that. Of course they drop the price back down and we're set for another year.

Why can't they just give long time customers a decent rate to begin with? Why do you have play the same game every year to get a reasonable rate? I guess it's worth it to them, most people probably just pay it and don't bother calling to get a better deal.

We have Comcast for 3 TV's and my PC and pay $167.20 per month. No fancy channels on the TV's. My PC is super fast. I had a tech out one day and he changed the connection on the pole to gold plated connector. Came in and did some tests on it and asked if he could move into our spare bedroom cuz he never saw one this fast.

Did the same thing this morning with my trash pickup service.
I pay annually and this invoice is $100 more than last year's. Someone is supposed to call me back...
If not, they're fired.
Other services in the area to choose from and are offering teaser rates for new customers.

Same thing goes for Sirius/XM. At renewal, I always threaten to quit and they somehow manage to come up with a great subscription rate for both vehicles.

I also have Comcast for Internet and Cable TV. Fired AT&T (internet and landline) and DirecTv two years ago.
Comcast has screaming fast Internet.

I wish I had better choices for internet ,the ONLY choice I have is Windstream .Our satelite provider is DirecTv and they say we can no longer request discounts unless we upgrade our service and sign a 2 year contract and we wont do it . We live too far off the road for cable TV to give us service so we are pretty well screwed .I guess that comes with living out in the country .

Our internet is not blazing fast but it seems to be fine now that they upped the speed. We pay about $117 a month and that includes the best TV package they have. I know Comcast has good internet speeds but I dealt with Comcast for years before switching to Uverse and have no desire to go back. It seemed every year the TV would start pixelizing then it would be months of calling them before it was fixed. Then a year later would start all over again. They're service techs, subcontractors, were the worst. They would come in swap a cable box or change a connector then run off to the next job. ATT, the few times I've had them out, goes through everything. From the box a few blocks away all the way into the house. They want to fix the problem the first time, not on the 3rd or 4th attempt.
