Default Family Dog not doing well

Our Border Collie Annebelle, 12 years old took a turn down hill last night and has been at the vets all day today and conitunes to decline. She is 12 years old but has been in good health except for her hips which have some stiffness in them if we run her to much. We are taking her over to the vet hospital tonight so they can keep a close watch on her. They really do not know what is wrong with her at this point. Been my wife's dog (so she says), but she likes to hangs with me most of the time in the garage. I know this has really been hard on my wife, especially with everything else that has been going on in our home lately. Since the kids are all gone the dog gets to go everywhere we do these days.

Ray..hope everything goes well I know that a pet is part of the family and it's hard when things are not going well with them and they can't tell you what is going on. I have a lot of respect for Vet's on working with our pets.

Ray,I got sad reading this especially when you said about her spending time in the garage with you. You guys don't know exactly what is wrong? I hope you get to spend a few more years with her, good luck.

My Collie,Mercedes died May 13th'09,and the garage hasn't been the same since.

Ray, I am sorry to hear about your dog. As anyone knows, who has had a pet for that long, it is no longer a pet, but a huge part of your family. My best wishes for a quick recovery and for her to come home to you and your family.

Hopefully it's a short term bug and she'll be good as new in a day or two. Good luck.

Ray, I fell so sad for you and the wife. To lose a friend is bad enough, but to lose a good dog is the worst thing that I've ever been through. I send my condolenses to you and the wife. I so hope this is true, I get tears in my eyes every time I read it.

Really sorry to hear that Ray. Don't know what else to say, we all know how hard it is.
