Default Think my time is up

Manager scheduled a meeting with me for this afternoon.

Attention:

Please clear your schedule to attend this call. If you are at a client site, please call in from a private room to have this discussion.

Sounds like the meeting notice sent to a former coworker last fall when she got laid off. Oh well, I knew it was coming, expected it to happen a long time ago. Still you continue to hope you can hang on just a little longer.

Meeting was scheduled for 2:30 this afternoon. Dumb ass just re-scheduled it for 5:00. It's like, look asshole, stop playing games, just call me and get it over with.

Yes they would, obligatory 2 week notice would take me to the end of the month. Sounds about right to me and this is the end of the quarter. Lay offs are usually at quarter end.

Prayers are with you to keep your job, I know economy is quite rough for a lot but regardless we need to keep our hopes positive to make it through. Hopefully it is for a pay raise like Joe said.

Well it's over. Kind of surprised, Friday is my last day. Since I get paid monthly I'll probably get paid through the end of the month.

It was kind of funny. My manager, whom I have never met and has no clue what I do started by reading a script. I tried to interrupt and say I know what this is about, just move on. Nope, he had to read his script.

So that's it, he is going to set up a call to do an exit interview on Friday and give me the details on what I need to to do. 37 plus years and now the ride is over, time to move on.

Lynda is all upset even though I've been telling her for a year this was going to happen. I don't like it but I'm not upset or angry or bitter. We've enjoyed a good life and we'll we'll continue to enjoy our life. Things will be different but we'll survive.
