in Poconos pa? i am looking for someone that i can look at there chevelle to compare and learn, i am starting to get a little pissed off with my chevelle with all the nickel and dime stuff i have to go and buy. I went to bolt on my crank pulley and the bolts are wrong had to go to the hard ware store to get new bolts go to put on my water pump pulley yup wrong bolts as well back to the hardware store. now i stopped working on it for the day but i am going to go back to work on it over the weekend and i sure i am going to have to make more trips to the hardware store but i rather see someones setup before i get started again! sorry for the rant but i am to the point where i wish i would of just went LS1 since i know those motors so well!

You can get the correct bolts from www.ss396.com (Ground Up) or NPD (National Parts Depot) They sell almost everything you need to get your car back on the road. Don't get to discouraged, if you have any questions, post them. We're here to help.

As Brian said, don't get discouraged. It doesn't have to be done today, I don't think you need to drive it to work tomorrow so relax. That's how I deal with mine, no pressure to get it running since I have other cars. Think of it as therapy going out to work on the Chevelle. That's my take on it, I know you want it done but, honestly, it will never be done. So take it one step at a time, step back and admire your work. Then tackle the next issue, or you can let it drive you crazy because it's not all done exactly as you want it.

That's what I enjoy about the Chevelle. It doesn't have to be running when I call it quits for the day, so no pressure. A daily driver has to be running, that's pressure, not a hobby.

Oh, and I wish I did live closer. I would be happy to come and help you out.

I agree with everyone above don't get discourage. One of the first things I did was go and buy variety of bolts I might need and put them in a plastic bin with divders so I could have any bolt I might need. I did get correctly mark bolts from Ground up also. Almost everything you do on these cars is a challenge, but it is worth the effort in the end.

yeah i just needed to relax i was so pissed off its hard learning something new and then a few of my friends put that bug in my head "o you should of put an LS1 in it since you know that motor inside and out" then i was thinking dam i should of done that! but then i said i always wanted to learn the carb motors and i always wanted a big block chevy motor, so i took off for a while and went out about 2 hours ago and put in the things i wanted, my carb distributor and crank pulley. but we shall see.

i kind of stopped working on it since my rx7 needed to be repaired that took all my time but now the car is back and on the road again i can put my energy back to the chevelle again. this week i think i am going to remove the rivets that closed everything up on the firewall because i do want heat and i do want ac just not sure how it needs to be mounted. I went to a car show and i found a 69 chevelle and i took a lot of pics to show me how to do the things i need to do and where to put everything

so i hope

Car shows and pictures is a good idea. Car shows are also a good way to meet people that you know are close and many are willing to help. Ask questions, you'd be surprised how many guys are willing to jump in with advice or even come take a look and give you hand. It's a learning process, take your time and enjoy looking at the progress you've made. Based on the pictures you've posted you done a lot and should be proud.

I totally agree with Hank. Another great thing that you get, are lifelong friends. They will ask you to come and help with their cars, and you will learn. Then you will ask them to come help with yours and you will learn. Next thing you know, you are at a car show with them years later saying things like...remember when we.

Don't be afraid to talk to everyone.
