Matt I love the wagon. grumpy and I have been talking about wanting a wagon. I know that he really likes the earlier ones. But I am kinda partial to the '72. It would be nice to have a set of '72s.
Welcome to the site.

I would love to have a 72 wagon to go with my 72 Malibu vert ,72 SS El Camino and my 72 Chevy truck ,but the 55 would have to sell first or Joans 81 Trans Am (that aint happening ) .

This is only the second Chevelle I have owned. 18 Years ago when I lived in Va. I owned a 72 307 Malibu coupe. I really liked that car a ton but I had to give it away. Had the cards stacked against me on that one, but that is another story. So the looks of the 72s have a special place for me.
Here's kind of cool thing. I kept the vintage 1972 Va. plates I got for my 72 back then. So because here in Az. We only have to have a rear plate so we can put what ever we want on the front. I put one of my 72 Va. plates on the front to give homage to my car I owned 18 years ago. ![]() Here are a couple of new pics I took today. ![]()

Long roofs are so damn cool .... congrats on the purchase.
Something about the dog dishes doesnt seem right .... were the centers painted? Keep in mind that so many elky parts interchange with the wagon when you look for fenders, etc .... same wheelbase/chassis also. Good lucK |

Yea, I am not liking the wheels very much. They were on it what I got it. I am starting a new job (After being out of work for close to 3 years) on Tuesday. So I hope to have some new wheels and tires on this very soon.
I have these 70s vintage 15x7 Ansen Sprints. ![]() These are left over from my 71 Camaro project I sold. We custom painted them PPG toner black with a clear coat because they were very marked up and unfixable. So I body worked them and my buddy who paints hot rods for a living shot them. Then I had the pinstriper for his shop do the electric blue pinstripe by had. For a pizza. LOL! He is one of the top pinstripers in the west. I think he would have normally gotten about 2 to 5 hundred for that. There are some things I miss about working in a custom paint shop. They were working for me for my Camaro. It was going to be painted Petty Blue. Very close to the Grabber blue you see on the new Mustangs. That is why the Blue strip on the wheels. But I am not feeling it for my wagon. But they are the only wheels I have right now. I might be getting a set of 82-84 Z/28 Aluminum wheels and tires from a friend of mine that has them on his project as just rollers. He will be getting his wheels and tires for that car soon and will not be needing those. So he is going to let me have them. They might work on it. But either way. They will be better then these thin little 14s I have on it now.

Those look like mid 80' S10 hub caps. Cool family hauler, a guy in the local car club has a gold 71'. I always walk by it and think, "Man that car is HUGE."

You can do some much to the wagons. I would love to have one for a tow vehicle.

Oh yea you can. I love these Chevelle wagons so much and wanted one for such a long time. A few years ago I wanted to build a model of one or two. So I started producing a 1/25th scale resin body of a 69 wagon just so I could build it. I have a side business that I make resin model car parts.
![]() ![]() Here is the one I am working on. Not a finished model, yet. ![]() Right now I am a little backed up on orders for these. Man it is a popular item for me. There are a lot of closet wagon lovers out there in the model car world.
