well since i am going to be redoing my rear end i might as well change the gears. my car is going to be 100% cruiser. 99.9% never see the track. Drive around town drive it to work here and there and i know with a 4 speed manual and the last gear being a 1:1 i figured with my gears of a 4.11 i am going to be spinning the rpms at 70 somewhere around 3300-3500 right? so i ask you guys what gears should i change down to? 3.55? lower? 3.08?

Which 4 speed? Any idea what the 1st gear ratio is?
How tall of a rear tire?

at 70mph in top gear, just a guess... your 4.11's will run way more than 3500rpm
my 3.73's, 15" tire, TH350, runs about -+4500rpm at 70mph my speedo is out of whack so that's just a rough guestimate... if you want hiway cruisin go 2.92 - 3.08 traffic light to traffic light stay with your 4.11

yeah i am thinking about doing a happy medium and i think 3.55 is the way i am going to go. since the only time this car is going to really get on the highway is when i take to to work on a nice friday morning and its only on the highway for 7 miles i think i can live with 3.55s
