Default new guy from covington ga

Hey guys I'm a new chevelle owner. Well the car has been around my family forso some time now but it was givin to me as a christmas present last christmas. My stepdad suprised me with the title to his 69' convertible ss. He bought the car in 73 he tore it down in 88 to start restoring the car but his late wife got sick and later passed away. So he never got back to the car. Its very rough but it is a true ss and he has all the original drivetrain for the car.

I just figured I needed to tell about my starting point that way when I ask questions you will have an idea of why the car means a lot to me. A lot of people have told me its to far gone but it means to much to me. It will be a complete resto. But I was wondering with the car being what it is how close to orignal to I need to make it? Total original or is it ok for me to upgrade some stuff? Change color just general stuff like that

Thanks steven

Welcome! A few local guys on here. They are never too far gone...I have seen some pretty amazing builds that started from basically piles of rust and ended up looking amazing.

Hi Steven. As you said yourself, the car was your dads and it was given to you. How much is that worth ? To you, probably priceless. As far as making it original or putting newer parts on it, that is totally your choice. What do you want ? Do what you want and it will make you happy.
