Sitting at the Alabama state line with dead stop traffic on the freeway. Plan was to make it Louisiana tonight. Total of 750 miles today. Ugh

Finally made it to Baton Rogue at 1am Florida time. Been up since 5am. What a bunch of crazy drivers. The truck was like driving a large banana boat with a boat anchor behind it. Truck got about 8 miles to the gallon. Plan to get up a little later and do another 600 miles tomorrow.

Boy, I know a couple great restaurants in BR...my daughter and her family live a little north of there, in Alexandria.
Driven that section of I-10 many times...hate it!! But I-20 isn't any better. At least you should start seeing cheaper gas prices.

Sounds about like driving the motorhome. Wind, semi's push you around, you're always steering, get about 8 miles to the gallon. Don't over do it Ray, stay safe. I know how tiring it is driving the motorhome, no way I'd try to do 600 miles in a day, more like 400-500.

I wasn't driving a moving truck, we did around 830 miles a day on the way up to Newton, Iowa from Florida in 2010. (Hot Rod Power Tour) It was brutal.

Another brutal day today. Dallas was the worst. Raining hard, all the roads were under construction and everyone is doing 80. Best I could do was around 60 and try not to hit anyone. Headed toward Route 66 tomorrow in New Mexico. Got 581 miles in today.
