Default Hello from the left coast

Just found this site whilst searching out a supplier of SS dashes and here I am!

First-off the word "Rank" was part of my past growing up in the sixties in Southern California. San Diego to be exact. I think it was word from the "rat-fink" genre and it means good things but it was one of those words like "bitchen" that the adults hated so I still use it to this day ..... I am Rank!

I left San Diego about 20 years ago and moved to northern Ca (Mendocino County) and here I sit

I currently have a 70 Chevelle roller that I picked up a few months ago and I am just about ready to breathe some life into it. But I am not sure what direction to go. I got a '73 454 engine and 400 trans that would slide right in there and I would/could go the LS6 clone route.

I also have a 59 Chevy sedan delivery with a 1970 300 horse 350ci and a th350 behind it .... I could jerk the 350 out of the Sedan Delivery, put it into the Chevelle and put the big block into the SD. I know the sbc's like the back of my hand and the gas milage in the Chevelle would be manage-able.

Right now I sorta have to work with what I have with the economy being sour and such. I havent pounded a nail in months (thank god for working wives!) and I hate the thought of selling something to generate cash ... but most of us are in the same boat, right?

I also have a 1993 Corvette roadster that is a fun car for road trips ... lt-1 with 6-speed .... yee-haw! I got the vette due to this strong desire I got seeing Todd and Buzz cruising Route 66 .... again in the sixties.

The 70 Chevelle is the second one I have had. My then 12 year-old son and I built the last one into (gasp) a roundy car in the early eighties. I built it then sold it to a driver and on its first nite out I watched him stuff it into the wall right infront of me .... Oh the horror!!! I wont do that to this one. LOL

But anyhow I'm gonna need some parts but to buy 'em I am gonna have to sell some parts so I plan on using this site for all it has to offer ..... and maybe now and then I can also contribute some nuggets of wisdom.

One last thing, all my pics are in my other computor that got infested with the "Defender-Pro" virus and until I can find a geek to straighten it out my pics are in limbo.

Randy

Thanks to all with the welcomes.

Yep I have my hands full with projects and it seems never enough time to work on them, room to store them all, or the money to make it happen.

Also the wife makes it clear that half of the garage is reserved for her driver so I find myself in a constant quandry of finding space to mess around on something.

When I finally do drag the Chevelle home, a friend let me park it at his place for a "short" [his words] while, I anticipate I am going to have to be creative in finding a work area. Anyone that lives on the side of a mountain can relate to my lack of level land! LOL

Thanks again for the welcome.

Robert, that snow you are getting today is probably from the same storm of near-freezing rain we got yesterday. I know your area well with HAN being an annual roadtrip. Also, my sis lived in Sparks and said she could pretty much predict her weather by what we received here the day or two before.

The forecast here is for "back to spring" starting tomorrow through the weekend.

Yeah, I know what you mean! There's three inches of snow outside my house today, but they are saying this weekend it should get up to 72'.

Welcome to the site, bud. I'd like to take that LT1/6sp for a little spin.

Welcome Rank. Looks like you have a full garage. With many of the toys that we all like. We look forward to all your stories and all your knowledge. And please post pics of all the toys when you can. We love pics here.
