Default $700,000.00 Bugatti bidder backs out in Vegas

I have always wondered what would happen if the people that bid the outrageously high prices on cars at Barrett Jackson, backed out. Here the guy bid $700,000.00 and then says, I really don't want to pay.

I've only walked away from a winning bid once. I knew the auctioneer was bumping me but I wanted the car.He hit the wall one more time and I walked away. When he realized I walked,he went back to my previous bid and put the hammer down.He said sold to Gary, and I said no it ain't.After a "discussion" about my being stupid and just getting in the business,I did not take the car. They don't want to lose a guy who buys 40-50 cars a month at one sale.

There may have been some of this going on here. The board did go to 750k then backed down to the 700k. The guy who bid did look a little "confused". He may have been caught up in the moment bidding on a car on TV then got caught when the bidding stopped.
