Cool 3 months into my project.

And it is going pretty well.Sunday we pulled the motor, got it on the stand and I must have stared at it for an hour or so deciding where to start first.Nice having no suprises as far as the numbers on the block, etc. The numbers and date coded parts I have purchased so far are as follows
1.The crown jewel is my Qudrajet. It's a work of art.
2.Correct intake
3.409 Master cylinder with bb code
4.Correct water pump
5.Correct wiper motor
6.Date coded engine lifts
7.Correct numbers pulleys
8.Correct dist.
Still looking for a 772 fan and a fuel pump.I spend the better part of a month redoing all the brackets, front coils and a frames after they were bead blasted.I had the steering box rebuilt and resealed while it was off along with the brake calipers.I can't believe he still had the original ball joints,so we replaced them along with all the other suspension pieces, which are all painted and ready to go.The next couple of weeks will be freshinging up the frame and firewall and hopefully have the motor ready to put back in by the first of March.I'm really having fun doing this and can't wait to see it finished. It also makes things a little easier when one of top 70 experts in the country lives 12 miles away from you.

I may have a correct fuel pump, but will need to be rebuilt. What date code do you need on the 772 fan? I will keep my eyes and ears open for one. I'm going to a swap meet in a few weeks and can look there for you. Mine is dated Jan of 70.

You can see most date codes. The 772 fan date codes are tough to see since they're stamped on the bottom edge of the blades. You can see them though with a flashlight and mirror.

Yea, my 772 fan is a 1973. I just start up the motor if anybody starts to look too close.

I don't think you're an idiot Gary. This is what you want to do and how you want your car to be, more power to you. I'm sure you'll do a great job and have a car that you can really be proud of. I know I'd like to have a car like yours but that's not in the picture. We all have Chevelles but maybe we want different things out them.
