Default Estate Sale

Work at my sister house today selling off all of her belongings. Had to put her into a assisted living center. Dealing with people low balling you all day long was a pain in the the butt. Everyone wants something for nothing even though we had the prices down so they were already a steal. After it was all said and done today we only sold about $700 worth of stuff and stlll have a house full of furnture and all the nick nacks and glassware to sell. Hope tomorrow goes better. We had a few items stolen today also. My wife has worked hard to make this sale happen for my sister the last two weeks, she has the heart to help others. It is a gift I have learned to love about her. Once the house is empty then I will need to sell the house to help pay for her care. Wish us luck tomorrow, hope all goes better.

Maybe being Saturday you'll get some serious shoppers instead of the professional garage salers, good luck.

Never mind, I forgot, world is coming to an end today. J/K, good luck.

Ray,
I hope your day went better today. Saturdays are usually the better days for sales like that. As far as someone stealing things, it always amazed me that people would do that. But if they needed it more than me, then so be it. I am the better person for letting it go, and I know that they will have to answer to someone, someday.

If you don't sell it all, you may be able to contact a company that will sell the remaining items for you, at a fee. But sometimes not having the time to do it, or dealing with the aggravation of it.

Sale went better today, but still have a lot of things to sell. My niece was in charge and was unwilling to deal with people. She let some people walk away for a difference of $2 on some items. Very frustrating working for her. All the tools I priced at a fair price sold and all the items she repriced at outrages prices are still there. I was incharge of parking all day so I was glad I was not up there. My wife came away frustrated too. My nephew showed up and he wanted the prices higher. We were going to have a half price sunday, but he said no and that he could sell the items himself. So I plan to load all the stuff up and dump it in his front yard if I have too in a week or so and then I can start the repairs on the house to get it listed for sale. Glad this sale is over tomorrow.

A difficult situation, but it sounds like you did everything that you could. And you did what your sister wanted you to do.
