I had a little interest generated last week on your 55 but it was either people wanting to trade or wanting to go in with you to "restore" it and try to sell it at a profit. I obviously didn't waste your time with those.

Crap.
Hard to believe those flat top pistons are giving you PTV issues.
Is it because of the 2.30" diameter intake valves??

I am sure the combination of valves (although I believe they are only 2.25" on the intake and I don't remember what you had on this thing) and a head that was seriously milled down to try to squeeze a solid 9.5:1+ didn't help matters. No big deal. They did say the bearings looked brand new when they pulled everything apart. Kind of a piece of mind to know everything has been checked out at this point. As a side note, I think they sent the pistons over to Greg to have him machine them so he is still working on this thing.

I used GM -702 closed chamber heads w/2.19" & 1.88" valves. Those heads are 97cc chambers but I was only running a Comp Magnum 292 hyd tappet cam with .540" lift.
The good thing is Greg will turn those pistons out quickly.
I just hate it for 'ya...I would have never guessed.

Greg needed to get a different bit to mill the pistons so still no real progress. Although, everything is laid out and ready to go together just as soon as the pistons show up. I expect the motor to be ready to drop in this time next week (fingers crossed)

Had Terry Cowger create me new decals for my air cleaner

This weekend I ordered another set of 15x10 SS wheels (after much deliberation and after being VERY close to ordering a complete set of Billet Specialty Street Lites) and some tires to be used for track days.

MT Street Radial 28x12.5R15

Also picked up a new Bell M.4 helmet in matte black. Getting closer to terrorizing small children and little ladies with this thing!

Absolutely! Just so long as I can fit the drag wheels in the trunk. Not really sure how much room is actually back there.

Eric,
I'd be glad to transport the wheels/tires. I'll be trailering my '67 and will have plenty of room in the truck's bed. And it's covered...
