i literally cried when i heard the news. My daughter is going to be in school soon and that is all i thought about. and then on top of that my wife is a kindergarten teacher. I called my wife right away to make sure she is ok and then called day care where my daughter is just to talk to her.

I hear you there Shaun... my oldest is in pre-school. All day Friday, all I could think about at work was getting home to give the kids hugs.

When I got home, all they wanted to do was throw snowballs at me... made me really think about how innocent kids that age are. They had no idea about the tragedy (nor have we told them) and not a care in the world. Was amazing to feel a bit of normalcy that afternoon.

Today 2 of the boys were buried. Both of them being Jewish, I am just glad that the police and coroner were able to release them so that they could be buried in accordance with Jewish Tradition.

Shaun and Derek I can understand your concern. I have children from the age of 11 - 28 and have unfortunately seen this before. I have prayed for the safety of my children everyday. I live in a school district where there is no bus system, and my kids walk to school everyday. This year my daughter in High School walks about a mile to and from school. My two in Middle school walk about 3/4 of a mile each way too. Some days they ride their bikes, some days they get a ride from me, and most days they want to walk. I always thought their walking to school was more dangerous than being in the classroom. But with the recent events I don't know.

Its a shame that nowhere seems safe anymore like when we were growing up .

This was on Face Book my wife saw.

Very Touching…..God Bless These Families!

twas’ 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven’s gate.
their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day
“where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“this is heaven.” Declared a small boy, “we’re spending Christmas
at God’s house.”
when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, I’ll take care of mom and dad,”
then he looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!”
“may this country be delivered from the hands of fools”
“I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools!”
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“come now my children, let me show you around.”
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can,
and I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”

School is still one of the safest places for your children. I saw a news report that mentioned the incident Derek posted. The report was saying that we think this is something new and increasing, but it's not. It's been going on forever. We tend to forget some of the incidents and we didn't have instant news coverage of anything and everything that happens anywhere in the world like we do today. What may have been an article in a newspaper years ago is now day long coverage on all the major tv networks.

So true Hank. With all the social media, news is spread so quickly.
