Default Anyone ever rebuilt a thermopane window?

I haven't but I'll let you know how it works out. We have 5 windows in the motorhome with broken seals, common problem. They get condensation in between the panes and fog up. I can get them repaired, about $200-$300 a piece. That's a lot, plus I have to take them out, pack them up and ship them off. That or drive the motorhome to one of the few places that do it.

Done a lot of reading on the RV forums and thought I'd give it a try. Around $100 for the materials to do them, hopefully. It's close, not sure if I can get all 5 done with what I ordered. Pulled one window the other day. It's a slider, half the window is fixed, the other have slides to open it. Wow, can't believe how heavy it is. Standing on a ladder when it came out was a shock and that was the smallest one I have to do.

I got the frame apart, separated the 2 panes on both halves and cleaned everything up. Tomorrow I'll put them back together. What I ordered was a roll of the spacer that goes between the panes. It has a desiccant in it to remove any moisture. Urethane sealer for the outside of the spacer and a small guide to shoot the sealer in between the panes up to the spacer.

A little more work than I expected but what the heck, we'll see how it goes. Worst case I'm out $100.

Got the one window done and installed in the motorhome. There's a couple of marks on one pane of glass that wouldn't come off but it's not bad, much better than before. Took another one apart and one pain is etched really bad, no way to clean it off. It's a white haze that looks really bad. Guess it sat too long in the sun with moisture inside the 2 panes. Have a couple more on that side of the motorhome that look the same. Found a place that will make the tempered panes to replace the etched ones, around $60 a piece. Figured if I was going to all the trouble of tearing them apart and resealing them I might as well replace the bad pieces of glass.
