Hi guys, Sorry I have not been around lately. The holidays were very, very, very busy for me.

I spent the few weeks before Christmas "Adopting Families for the Holidays" thru our other site Audiokarma. The members on Audiokarma auction off items and all the money raised goes into our fund to adopt families. I shopped with over 15 families and Seniors and we also donated more money so that the Volunteers of America orginization could give food baskets to Seniors and provide Christmas for more families that I did not have the time to shop for.

Grumpy and I also were invited to tour the Gleaners Food Bank in Detroit because we have provided over 2,500 meals for the past 5 years because of the donations from the members.

Then on Christmas night my son, Matthew flew in from Texas and spent 10 days with us. I haven't seen Matthew in over 4 years. Then on the Sunday before Matthew left my oldest daughter Jennifer flew in from Las Vegas for one day. It was the first time in over 6 years that I have had all 6 of my children together. A lot of the familiy wanted to see the kids so I made reservations at a local BBQ place and over 25 people showed up and we watched the Lions play. My daughter Jennifer is a HUGE Lions fan, she is actually dating the son of a former Detroit Lions player. They have lived in Vegas together for the past 4 years.

The next morning I dropped Jennifer off at the airport at 6am, then I dropped Matthew off at the airport at 4pm. Sad day, but I was so happy that I got to see them and get the whole family together.

The very next day my grand daughter had surgery to remove her tonsils and atnoids. It was pretty rough on her, apparently when they clamped down her tongue it pinched it so hard on the sides that it is still swolen and it has been about a week.

I was pretty sick most of last week and was finally getting back to normal and then last Friday I chipped a tooth. So after I am done writing this I am getting on the phone to call a dentist.

It was a busy roller coaster month for me but I am still here. I have been having computer problems and been using Tap a Talk on my phone most of the time. But today I had to do the member updates and said what the heck...I will check in here.

Sorry I talked your ear off, I am going to have to do some reading later and get caught up on everyone and the progress of their cars.

I hope everyone had a great holiday.
Nancy

Thanks guys. I am now sitting in Children's hospital of Detroit with my granddaughter. No rest for me. I had my tooth pulled yesterday but that doesn't stop me. Lol. Granddaughter has bleeding in her throat after having her tonsils out last week.

I don't know what I did to bring on all this hard luck but today has been a tough one.

We had to put down one of our cats this morning. We adopted Angel about 2 1/2 yrs ago and we knew that she had feline leukemia. At the time we also had adopted another cat, Topaz. We lost Topaz last year to the disease. This past week Angel had not been eating and she had labored breathing so we took her to the vet this morning. A x-ray was done of Angels chest and her lungs were covered with tumors.

Last year we tried everything we could to save Topaz and I feel guilty because I think that we prolonged his pain because we wanted to keep him around longer. We had given him IV's everyday to replenish his fluids and no matter what we did he just got worse.

With Angel today it was hard. The vet we have has been there thru all the hard times with us and she had tears in her eyes when she brought in the x-ray. I knew it was bad when I saw all those spots on her lungs. This was a cat that was extremely active and the past few days she would just be walking and fall over because she didn't have the energy to walk.

Angel brought so much Joy into our lives and I didn't want to make her suffer any more. My daughter Leah had not felt good this morning and stayed home from school and went with me to the vets. Leah was Angel's favorite and I hated to do it, but I told Leah that she needed to say goodbye. I took lots of pics of our Angel before we left.

My heart is heavy, but I know that she had a good life. If we hadn't adopted her she probably would not have had a happy life, if a life at all. I do not regret anything that we did. I told my daughter that now she has an Angel....named Angel.
