Default Just Checking In

Stopped in Mt Airy, NC yesterday. It's just inside the northern border of NC. We earned some free nights at Best Westerns on our trip out west last summer and used one there. Nothing much there but it was free and it was a decent room. We're in Daytona Beach now, well maybe a few miles north. I'm listening to the surf roll in. We didn't have enough points for a free night so we had to pay. $84 for a 4th floor balcony room facing the ocean. Not that we'll use it but has a full size fridge, sink, 2 burner stove.

Supposed to be 78 here tomorrow so we may hang around another day or make our way slowly down A1A. My brother in-laws mother is at their house and not leaving until Thursday, sooner we get there the more night's we have to sleep on the coach. Once she leaves we get a bedroom.

Just thought I would say hi and tell you how nice it is to have some sunshine and warm weather. It was 73 in parts of Georgia today and sunny most of our ride. Maybe we'll just walk on the beach and sit by the pool tomorrow, I could deal with that.

It wound up being a really nice weekend here too. It was a bit cloudy today, but still didn't rain until after dark. I hope it is nice next weekend, I've got plans Saturday to take a pal for a nice ride inmy car.

Talked to our son yesterday, he spent the afternoon moving 8" of wet snow off the driveway. Better him then me! He said it was too heavy and wet for the snow blower. It was still snowing when he got done and snowing today but warm enough that most of it was melting when it hit the ground. Was in the 80's here today, cloudy and humid but better than there.

I started The Black Car up after 4 months of sleeping on Sunday. I backed him out of the garage and let him run for 20 minutes while I was listening to a CD and having a beer. I pretended I was going for a ride, only my dog wanted to go.
