My toes are numb!

It's in the low 30's and raining here. Been out in the shed with my son. He's reassembling a late 1960's Ford lawn tractor. It has a 10 or 12hp, not sure, Kohler engine, it's twice the size of the 19hp Kohler on the zero turn Toro we have and weighs about three times has much. The frame is heavy angle iron, front axle is cast iron, basically this thing is built like a tank.

Neat little tractor, if we can get it running we can use it for snow blowing the drive and other yard work. The zero turn is not designed to pull heavy a load like a lawn roller or loaded trailer, this Ford tractor is. Going up to Hartland, a few miles north of Brighton, tomorrow to look at a snow blower attachment for it. We could get a plow for it but that would require wheel weights and tire chains. We have an asphalt driveway and the chains would tear it up.

Anyway, interesting project. Amazing how many of these tractors are still around from the late 60's and early 70's, Ford LGT 110, 120, 125, 140 and 145. You can still find parts and accessories like plows and snow blowers for them on craigslist. Kind of like restoring a Chevelle but they don't make new parts for these, have to find the original stuff.
