Welcome, good luck with the Chevelle and hope everything is going well overseas! For the dash swap I have seen some vendors assemble a fairly complete kit that comes with all the small stupid things to take the guesswork out of it. They do count on using some items from your original sweep dash such as instrument light sockets and some other things. One of the differences other than the bezels is the tach on the aftermarket dash uses 2 screws to mount it instead of 3. I personally wouldn't worry about it if the car isn't an SS and would be just as happy with it. I loved having my Malibu and wish I didn't have to sell it. I'm sure you will get plenty of looks and thumbs up when you have your car out. Even my new car with primer spots all over it gets people to stop and ask if its for sale when I have it out in the driveway.
