Wood Splitters

Anyone here own or use a gas powered wood splitter ? Im about to have some large oak trees cut down and plan to use the wood for my heat this coming winter and my back cant hold out to do it all with a Go Devil like I normally use .I have been looking at Tractor Supply at their 22 ton splitter for about $1000 versus renting one from Home Depot for $100 per day . I have never split wood with a machine before so tell me what you think. Im definitely not renting one at that price daily .
