I worked on the car for about 4 hours early this morning and got some more done. Before I bought the fuel cell I opened the trunk and measured the space I had to mount it so I could get the biggest tank I could fit. Well the tank fits in the hole, but the damn sump outlets are up against the rear frame cross member.

Here's what I'm working with

Here's the tank in place.

And this is the problem I ran into.

So my options were to cut the brackets off behind the tank and start from scratch to lengthen the mounting spot or run the tank backwards which would be totally f*n gay. LOL

So I started removing the sheet metal to see what I was dealing with and actually feel that I got lucky. The guy that tubbed the car had the top bracket out much further then the sides and bottom for some reason so the sheet metal wasn't even welded to the supports except for the top. Everywhere else it was simply tacked in place. You can kind of see the line where the paint stopped. That's where the sheet metal was welded.

So I cut off the top support bracket and test fit the tank.

Walla!!! Plenty of room for my 90 degree fittings now!!
