Good luck. The car has really come a long way. You have to be excited to see the progress.

What a drama. Its loaded and ready for transport today. We will see what transpires???
Quick unrelated question. Im wanting to go with the five spoke wheels of 71-72. The ones that are the same as the early 80's Z28's I found a set and am having them powder coated black. But I don't know if they need to be gloss, flat or satin? Would they come gloss from the factory?

The factory wheels were kind of an egg shell. And were not black. None of the "restoration paints" are even close.

The original color is kind of a green gray, and has a slight rough texture. I am currently trying to find someone who can mix me a really close batch of it. I have 11 wheels to paint.

This may help too, a guy on another site went to great lengths to duplicate the original texture and color.

Just an update on this for anyone who cares... I was able to find some of this paint through my local PPG distributor. It is VERY expensive! I almost fell over when they told me the quart and gallon prices.

But, never one to half ass things on my car... I bought a quart. Hoping I can paint all of my wheels with just a quart of paint.

If you didn't want to go through all that, a rattle can of semi gloss black and nobody that didn't know all the production line numbers would be the wiser. I had a set on my '71 SS clone and nobody ever said anything to me other than, "Nice car".
