TireRack.com has good sales on their snow tires in the spring... I think it was April last year they were doing $100 off + free shipping for a set of 4.
You won't regret getting them (or any snow tire). I picked up my Blizzaks cheap (used, $50 for all 4) and this was my first winter driving on snow tires... couldn't believe the difference, and I'll NEVER go back to driving on all seasons in the winter. After one snowfall with mine, I ordered a set of snow tires for my wife's car too (Firestone Winterforce... just as good in snow, but not as good on ice... 2/3 the price) I have become somewhat of a "tire snob" from the experience.
