HI All
I am new to this so not sure this is where I should be. I just brought home a 71 chevelle. The gear indicator is not working. I have the idiot lights out and have removed over $2 in change from the indicator area. The indicator is now moving freely however the cable has come off and I cannot figure out where to place it. The cable is not broken and I have undone it from the steering column and fed it back into the indicator housing. The return spring is still attached and functioning. Any thoughts? All help is appreciated. cheers |

Welcome Terry, unfortunately I am in the same boat as Gary. But I am sure that someone here will be able to help you. It was a nice day here in Michigan and I am pretty sure that the Michigan guys were out enjoying the weather.

Thanks for the response. I am trying to get the beast ready for our safety inspection here and want everything to work so I can get this car out and show off a bit. This is my first "hot rod" and love all the attention I get. People love to see these old cars.

HI John thanks for the encouragement
I have searched the internet and have come across information but not quite enough to get the job done. Hopefully someone else has experienced this and knows what to look for. I get the impression there might be a plastic post that the cable should attach to. Mine might have broken off but I need to be sure. cheers |
