Repaired two of the four shock retainer nuts. Painted all four, plus the four bolts. These are things I should have done months ago. Front shocks and front sway bar are installed as of 20 minutes ago. (I couldn't stay in for the night without installing everything. I wouldn't have slept tonight. Had to let the paint dry, took forever due to high humidity.) Going to keep plugging along, next up: install OP sending unit fitting, hood lanyard retainers, and barrel nut on the starter heat shield. Also need to tighten up the end links and lower control arm bolts while I am under the front of the car.

Nice pictures, Ray! Thanks for sharing.
I just got my roof stripped down to bare metal. Four checked and dead paint jobs were making me really worried about what I was going to find under there. After an 80 grit massage, it turns out the metal is actually pretty good.

Wasn't today, but over the weekend I decided to get the Chevelle out.
Debated racing but decided I didn't want to deal with all the BS that goes into getting the car ready for the track. Plus I just wanted to drive it so I drove the car to work Friday and then went down to Atlanta Motor Speedway for opening night. ![]() The place was pretty packed for opening night of Friday Night Drags ![]() Brought home a souvenir ![]() It was something fun to do on a Friday night I suppose.

There were a number of nice cars out for opening night though. If it was much closer I would probably go just to see some racing every Friday night.

Will be loading the Chevelle onto a trailer and heading south to a car show this weekend. Still need to get the frontend aligned before I make any long trips with it. Weather going to be in the 80's. Warmer then normal for this time of year, but I will take it.

Got the mufflers replaced on my '70 wagon and the pipe joints all welded up nicely yesterday...installed stock Maramont replacement mufflers ordered from Summit...very quiet!!
![]() Had some cheapie turbo mufflers on it that were obnoxious and had to go!! Grand kids like to ride in the rear facing 3rd seat.
