Finally uncovered the car today and dug in. Finished the inside trim around the rear window and got my sail panels secured. Purchased a set of beauty ring for the car today and installed them. Started to clean up the rear window for installation, put the hood installation in. Work on the carpet where I need to cut a hole for the 4 speed boot. Car is headed over in a week to have the motor put back in at my friends shop. June 15th is the drop dead date to finish the car. Car will be in it first car show on the 24th.

Your car looks great Ray.

My restored horn showed up Thursday, very happy with the finished product. I would recommend Gary @ the Horn Works to anyone.

Horns do look good. I may need mine done, won't know until I get power to the car to find out.

Mine was missing, Gary even provided a core. I am quite happy that he was able to accommodate me. I finally bit the bullet and got a new, upgraded phone this week. Here are a few pictures of the engine bay currently. I spent about three hours on it the other day. Rust, undercoating, and grime had been painted over at least 5-6 times in the past. (not while I have owned it) It's a real mess, and has been taking forever to get clean.

With a little luck I may get everything cleaned and detailed by the end of next week. Then I can start reassembly. The PS pump and steering box are still sitting on the shop floor waiting to be broken down and cleaned/painted.

Looking very nice. The time you spend on it now will only pay off later.

I am just bummed it wasn't done when the car was apart for restoration. However, my father was very sick when finishing this car. And it's damned amazing he was even able to get it to this point. I hate working around fresh paint. Just the same, I am very grateful that I have this car. It was given to me by my father when he felt his time was short, he ended up getting a heart transplant three weeks later. Once he healed and was doing well, I tried to give the car back to him because it didn't feel right. But, he insisted I keep the car. Since then, I have been redoing the entire drivetrain. I started gathering parts in October of 2010, figured this would be a six month deal. (Yeah right!) Hoping it is running by this coming October with some luck.

Drove mine over to the ACES SE regional show today. Good to visit with a few old friends...some of which I haven't seen in a year.
