Finally got the wiring on the tractor figured out. The wires were disconnected, cut, hooked up wrong. The parts diagram showed the voltage reg terminals as L (light), B (battery), and F (field), top to bottom on the side. A (armature) terminal is on the back. Finally pulled it out and cleaned it up, L is on the bottom and F is on the top, diagram shows upside down. So we got it cranking over but no spark. Pulled the points and cleaned them up, had some corrosion and we got spark. Fired up using starting fluid but not on it's own. Carb float valve was plugged and stuck, along with valves in fuel pump. Mechanical fuel pump just like an old Chevy engine. It's pumping gas now. Have to reinstall the carb and see if it will run.
Too cold out there, my busted ass was getting pretty sore standing on the cold concrete so it was time to call it quits for the day. We're close now if we can get the right drive belt for it, it should move on it's tomorrow.
