Looking good. Heads look very nice. Looks like a small block steering shaft. You can rebuilt the top half of the shaft if it has not been taken apart for 40 years. I took mine apart and replaced a the old grease that was in it. After 40 years it wasn't grease any more. Here's what mine looked like once I finished it.

It's actually a big block shaft, has the splined end rather than being press fit. I guess it's kind of hard to see in the picture.

A little further along today, heads installed and torqued. I have the intake and valve covers just sitting on it to keep the dust out.
