Largest tires on 15 x7 on 69

As per the BFG website:

29.1" tall, 10.2" section width, 7.8" tread width

From their site concerning the 245/60-15

26.6" tall, 9.8 section width, 8.5" tread width

It has less tread width, which confuses me... to me a 245 = 245mm wide, and a 255 = 255mmm wide. But, it is a good amount taller and has more section width. (overall width) Mounting a 275/60-15 on a 7" wide wheel isn't recommended, but I've seen it done.
