Because at one point, thats what I was rolling around in. But then, I decided it was time to man up and get a real car, a mans car, a car that I could idle down the street of any random neighborhood I happened to be passing through on a random evening say.. around 2 am setting off car alarms, agitating the local populace, and reminding anyone with ears attached to their heads that mufflers are for the weak and Liberals that hate firearms, burn bras (when their not wearing them) and think cars should run on electric and that the government is their friend.
I do not have a facebook. I do not have a myspace. And for the love of God I do not drive a 4 cylinder and drink lattes. I have a Chevelle. A 1970 to be exact, originally a 396 swapped out for a 454 stroked to a 496. Its Orange, its awesome (as am I, but we'll get to that later) and it will steal the heart of any estrogen injected top heavy piston loving vixen thats lucky enough to stand before it. But enough about me and mine, its your turn, and this is my thread. Feel free to bask in the glory of my heavy winded post and when you're done, introduce youself and lets get this party started Aaaaand go

Wow, quite an introduction. Welcome to the site. I see that you are located "Down the road", so I am taking it that you drive your car a lot ?
Anyway, about me, I have been here since the beginning. Maybe because this site was started because a woman, (me), couldn't get any respect, (answers to questions), on other sites. This site is one of the sites that me and grumpy (my husband) run. I have a 1972 Chevelle Malibu that I have owned for almost 15 yrs. I have built the car to be able to drive it (Dart 400 running 526hp) and enjoy it, not a trailer queen. I think you will find that most of the members here are drivers of their cars. We look forward to seeing some pics of your car.

Welcome and I'm Jay. I'm proud to say that I've never owned a 6 cylinder car in all
my life, not even my Audi now even though they are trying to make most German cars 6 cylinders. I got a 4.2l v8 in my A8 and a 6.2l in my escalade. I bought my 69 chevelle SS 3 years ago and it was just a driver with nice paint and nice interior. Since then the engine has been completly rebuilt, as the rearend, front end you name it. Just had it stripped down to bare metal last year inside and out, everything is new to stock now and the paint is perfect. I've been working on returning the engine compartment back to stock and I just need to put all my GM hoses on now and my a arm covers and then that's done. And it was dynoed at about 500hp before the new comp cam. Even though my car is just about perfect now it doesn't keep me from driving it, I go to most of the shows and drive it just about every weekend of the nice weather. She's all done for the winter now.

Post #2 my friend. Is it not showing up for you guys? Quote:
Thanks for the intro, pretty decent site you have here. I'm pretty familiar with 'crave' based forums so posting here should be a fairly painless transition. You guys have a very similar layout to another site I post on. Good on you for grabbing a 'Dart' block -I'm running a GM block (Gen III, 4 bolt) so I most likely don't have too much further I can go power wise which kinda sucks. My motor is all natural aspiration and tho I have never had it dyno'd the math says I should be right around 600 hp and 600 plus pnd trq give or take. Quote:
Well, you got me beat. I currently have a 2012 Impala LT as my driver, but I love the car. Has 300hp and moves pretty nice so I can't complain. Gas isn't as good as it is listed at tho. lol You know what tho? Ford got the recent GEN Mustang right imo, so there is no shame there. Wish Chevy would have done the same with the Camaro.

Hmm.. It shows up for me so I'm not sure whats missing here, I'll look into it when I have more time. Its the car in my Avi if you're able to see that. Thanks, welcome to my thread. What kind of powerplant you rockin' in your 70? Oh, almost forgot to mention this; as far as I know the car is a true SS, the 396 I used to have in it was not the original motor tho -helped make the decision to go with a 454 which is the motor I desired all along alot easier. That and we all know how much original LS5's and 6's will set you back. The paint on the car is basically a spray paint special that was slapped over the body to help preserve it, the trunk is solid (no rust) and the frame is in damn fine shape. Its a convertaed automatic (T400) from the original 4 speed. The doors are very solid (no play at all in them when you open them up and letem hang) -there is some bondo on the car here and there but nothing out of character for a car its age. As far as the research I have done as combined with the previous owner (I am technically the 3rd owner of the car) the car spent a good portion of its life on the west coast, and was built in the ATL plant. It was originally a red car with black pins. I've owned this car for the better part of a decade now and I will confess that due to some financial constraints I don't drive it as much as I would like to, so yeah, currently she sits on a throne and wears a crown in my garage (I live in the Chicago land area tho so this really isn't the best time to drive it anyways, but I digress).
