I think that's basically true for the last sign. Sometimes there's a sign at say 2 miles then one close to the exit. The first one may not be on the left for left hand exit. I know that's true because I've had to move across multiple lanes to make an exit. Especially in large cities where there's lot's of entrances and exits.

Maybe i should have explained it a little better. If the exit number on top of the sign is on the right side of the sign then it exits right. If the exit number on top of the sign is on the left side then it exits left.
The sign my be on the right side of the road but the position of the number on top is what denotes the type of exit. I hope that makes sense. |
