I'd say you have been damn lucky to never have anything come apart with it making that much noise.

Are you going to spend the extra $500 to have him put it in his car and set it on kill?

Have to agree with you. No noise when in driveway. Take up to 4000 real quick, quiet as can be. WOT on the road and can't hear a thing. Going up a grade in the 2000 rpm area you can hear it or flat land unless your going at an even speed.. Can't hear it after 3000 . 10 years of this annoying noise.
And no on the $500 test in MJs car. I'll do that.
