Is that the same master cyl that was being used for your drum brakes before the conversion? If so, that's your problem right there. You need the right master for disc/drum setup. Discs require more pressure than drums.

I just did a conversion on my 70 last month and my old master looked exactly like your pic. This is what I'm using now and everything works awesome.
