Tony, the side of the toilet is about 12" from the vanity. Mounted the holder right onto the side of the vanity.

Hank, that niche in the shower is in between the wall studs. Judy uses it for shampoo bottles and soap dish. The floor pan is made out of fiberglass, sitting on a sand & mortar base. Shower doors are heavy duty 5/16" glass. All the fixtures are done in brushed nickel. Floor is 12"x12" tiled.

My brother inlaw redid his downstairs with a shower that was 8'x8' with 4 rain type shower heads in the ceiling and body washes in the walls. You could have a freekin party in there. After a few years he finally came to his senses and remade it a lot smaller.

Looks like this job is going to be harder than I thought. Haven't done much last few weeks. Our daughter was here the week before Christmas. Then Christmas, New years and a sinus and bronchial infection that's still not cleared up.

I did finish pulling tile off the walls up to the shower door. Door has to come off before I can finish taking the tile down. The base may not be as hard as I though. I got a pry bar under a corner and was able to lift it and snap off a good size chunk.

So the hard part, shopping for tile with Lynda. I'm ready to just go buy a liner and slap it in. I show her some tiles and say this would look good in the shower. What about the floor she says. Okay this would work I tell her. She says well what about the counter top, you'll never find anything to match. AHH! She doesn't want this, she doesn't want that. If you want granite or quartz you're stuck with what nature gives you. Just because it doesn't match doesn't mean it won't go together. She must have some vision in her head. I don't know what it is and she can't tell me.

So it's been a low priority, slow job but the shower is done. Ripped up the tile floor in the bathroom today. Not fun hauling all that crap from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor then down to the family room then outside.



Backside of shower. Some dumb ass, I won't mention any names but his initials are "Hank", didn't think things through. The sheetrock, metal lathe, mortar and tile removed were a lot thicker than the cement board, thin set mortar and tile that replaced it. That left the faucet sticking out too far for the trim kit to fit. Had to open the wall and block the valve assembly to pull it in.

This is, obviously where the vanity goes. We found a vanity and counter top Lynda wants. Old vanity was 48" with center doors and drawers on each side. New vanity is basically a 30" cabinet with 2 doors on the left and an 18" cabinet with 4 drawers on the right. A quartz counter top with sink offset to left over the 30: cabinet. Sounds great, except. Except drain pipe comes up right where the 2 cabinets join and cold water inside the 18" cabinet. That won't work so I have to cut out sub-floor and move the plumbing to the left under the new sink.



I may have to cut out the sub-floor and replace the toilet flange too. It sits 1.5" above the sub-floor. The new cement board and tile will be around 3/4" so the flange may sit too high. I'll have to drag out the toilet and measure the bottom drain flange and see.



Removed trim around the window so I could measure the rough opening. Only window in the house that I haven't replaced. Figured I better do it now. That's it for now

The closet flange should sit on top of the tile.

Thanks guys. I know the flange should be on top of the tile. Just worried it may be too high above the tile. The new floor won't be as high as the old one.
