Just to give him an idea...
This week I bought a S&W Model 64-3 4" barrel (.38) ...complete with original target "football" grips, box, & papers. This Smith was made in 1981 and is in excellent mechanical & physical condition. Paid $450 for it... Even if he doesn't want stainless...the older Model 15 are excellent shooters and the 4" barrel versions are easy to find.
