Mine has the factory tar paper stuff along with ACC Mass Back (ethylene vinyl acetate 40mil thick.) It probably does not work quite as well as the heavy dynamat type products but it added $101.84 to the carpet bill and my interior guy absolutely hates working with it because the carpet is so think and takes so much longer to work into shape. I don't notice any heat or excess noise so I guess it does its job.

8 months later, and my carburetor has returned...







I am quite happy with the results.

No worries John, it will be fed a steady diet of 93 octane swill mixed with some av gas from the local air port.

I agree, I'm not a fan of the new plastic so called muscle cars either, especially a corvette.
