That is great news. I am so happy for you !

Thanks for asking about my daughter Lauren. Well according to the Physical Therapist, Lauren needed this machine that would cost us $300 a month to stretch her knee as she slept. But according to the Doctor, that was a waste of money. Lauren just needed to do more walking and stretching exercises. This info was all about a month ago.

Fast forward to last week. School started. No busses in our school district. Lauren has a little over a mile walk to school. So I think she is getting her daily exercise of her knee. She may not be happy about it, and she is tired when she gets home. But she plopped her behind on the couch most of the summer, even though I told her she needed to get out and walk and get ready for school. Well now she regrets not walking, but she said it is getting easier.

Well, I am 8 days into this - post surgery. They removed the splint and put my arm in a cast to restrict movement. I'll be stuck in this thing for two weeks. Then, therapy starts... I'm ready for that next leap. But, dreading it at the same time.

Is it almost January?

Well now you can finally start moving forward. It'll take some time but at least you're not at a standstill any longer, good luck.

They took the cast off today, now have a small brace. Also started therapy this afternoon. Was told strengthening will start 10 weeks post op, so that means about six weeks from now. Might be able to return to work right before Christmas.

Another week of therapy down. It's not going as well as I had hoped. The flexibility and elasticity isn't where it needs to be. It's very painful, and I feel I have a fairly high index for pain. I have a doctors appointment on the 29th, hoping by then my condition will have improved.

Thumbs up

Saw the doctor yesterday, no more brace! He said four more weeks of physical therapy to get my full range of motion back. Then four weeks of strengthening, after that - "do whatever you want." They are going to try to get my employer to let me do light duty in four weeks. That would be great, at least then I would get my base pay for 40 hours a week vs. workman's comp pay. (About 67% of my base pay) I will still be missing the OT pay, but I can manage for now.

Feeling like I am on the home stretch!

Damnit, my employer isn't able to accommodate me for light duty. Spoke with management today and got that news. As soon as I start strengthening in therapy, I am going to work on getting my car running.
