Its down to 9 degrees now and still going down ,coldest its been here in a long time .My furnace could keep up if needed but I try to keep the fireplace insert full of wood to save propane especially since I have not ordered any propane since last year. Water mains down here are usually only 4 ft deep and service lines to homes are 18" to 24" deep so we will be seeing lots of broken lines too. I was out on my tractor earlier and its all I could to to stand the wind and I was really bundled up ,bone chilling cold .Im just now getting good and warm with the exception of my face ,its on fire from wind burn.

Bill ,you might want to let your faucets drip tonight as shallow as your line is .

Thankfully no frozen pipes here this morning. I left all the kitchen sink cupboard and bathroom vanity doors open last night.
It's 5 degrees here right now with a -11 chill factor. Coldest temps here since I moved to GA in '85!!
My 2 yr old hi-efficient Trane hasn't stopped running since about 6pm last night. I even heard it go into higher speed turbo mode a couple times.

Had to run some errands and meet friends for lunch.
My 1st stop was to make a deposit so went thru the bank drive-thru. All the windows on the truck were frozen...I guess from that rain the night before last.
But, parked the truck out in the sunshine while at lunch. Windows now are working fine.
Weird!

Well the plow finally came down our street. Took him 6 passes to clear but not completely remove the snow. He also covered up all of our driveway ends. I tried using a flat shovel to clear ours, but then decided to get the 2 stage blower out. With the temp at -3* and breathing the exhaust from the blower along with COPD (what killed Phil Everly) it just about did me in. Got it cleared and made it back to the garage and took a few puffs off of my Ventolin inhaler so I could finally breathe again.......that was scarry.
